My students need writing and math materials for our learning centers. We are ready to write! We are ready to learn vocabulary and sight words! We are ready to add and subtract!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My young students are Kindergarten age. They are fun, energetic, and curious 5 to 6 year olds. My students are ready to learn about math, reading and writing. My students are eager to learn math facts, how to be a good reader and writer. We like to draw and write in our writing journals and our teachers help us to write complete sentences. It is exciting to be an author and an illustrator. We are also learning how to add and subtract, use a ten-frame and count on a number-line. The supplies we need will help to stock up our reading, writing and math centers. Who knows? Maybe we might have a famous author, illustrator or the next math genesis in our class!
My Project
It is critical to be able to write, add, and subtract before entering the first grade. This project will allow students to continue mastering those skills by providing a rich variety of language arts and math materials to create differentiated learning centers. The Ready to Write! Prompt box will aide students at the writing center and The Roll and Solve Addition will help students to learn how to add at the math center.
In our technological age of information, children must be equipped to communicate well and solve problems quickly.
These materials will be another step in helping them develop the skills necessary to succeed for the rest of their lives. Helping each child to feel confident about writing and math is essential to their success in school; I do not want these subjects to be viewed as a difficult task by my students. The materials will also provide much needed variety for student learning centers. Keeping students engage and excited about learning new skills and concepts. I have a class of 30 students and keeping them interested in learning centers during our block time and having enough materials for all the students will be very helpful in reaching the full potential of all learners.
