This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In Math Lab, the students dive deep into problems and thinking can get messy! The classroom is set up with the intention that every student has access to vertical workspace, so they can map out their thinking, step back, and view/critique/rework their reasoning or process. The dry erase markers and erasers will assist with making the vertical workspace viable. The folders, colored pens, pencils, staplers, scissors, tape, and sheet protectors will assist in good notetaking practices and organization. My students work hard and get excited about moving freely between their desk and vertical workspace, just like real mathematicians!
