My Students

My kindergarten students are learning and growing in a short period of time. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring different strengths to the classroom. My school has students who come from many different backgrounds, both cultural and economic.

Each child is encouraged to develop at his or her own pace.

I love engaging them in conversations, asking them to describe what they are doing, help them make new friends, and provide a variety of activities to spark imagination and facilitate learning. Exploring new ideas is very exciting for these little scholars.

I focus on the fact that every child is unique that learning can be fun. There is so much for young students to explore, I never want them to be bored with learning. I always want my students to leave my classroom knowing everything they need to be successful in first grade.

My Project

I have 50 wonderful kindergarten students who are eager to learn in my class this year. These students come from a variety of economic and cultural backgrounds. Their reading abilities range from pre-readers to students who can above grade level. Their math skills are varied as well. Many students are learning math skills quickly, and others need extra help and interventions.

White boards are a necessity in our classroom and will be used across the curriculum.

The benefits of using white boards include saving money/resources on paper AND white boards allow us to actively learn from our mistakes. When it is easy and quick to erase something, and try again, our students are getting quick and effective feedback.

These white boards will be used for students to practice handwriting, solve math problems, write answers to questions asked, and take notes.

On one side of the board, students can practice writing with the baselines provided. The other side is blank for students to draw pictures and diagrams.
