Wrestling is a sport that builds character, teaches kids how to overcome obstacles, handle their emotions, respect authority, the importance of being a good teammate, and that success has to be earned through hard work and determination.
My kids face challenges daily that our wrestling program helps them escape and overcome.
Not only has wrestling given these young men & woman an outlet, it has given them a platform to be successful .
Being successful not only inside the classroom but outside the classroom is a top priority for my student athletes. I want the very best for them and to feel as if we belong and be fearless when we go to compete with not only schools in our district but against other schools not in the inner city Houston as well.
With your assistance these donations of Wrestling shoes, head gear, and competition equipment will drastically improve our circumstances and allow them to feel more confident so that they may compete at a high level each and every time.
My Project
Wrestling teaches athletes how to work through pain and discomfort. Wrestling teaches toughness. Wrestling teaches discipline in every individual and as a team.
Playing with old equipment is like asking to wear your siblings hand-me-downs and these kids deserve so much more.We're an urban, school.
That means that we can estimate how many will enroll for school, but we always know that we'll have strong turnouts for both boys and girls wrestling. Wrestling can be an intimidating sport, but it’s also one with great potential to develop young adults, both physically and mentally which is why having new equipment is vital for the progression of the students.
Even if a child never wins a match, he/she will learn a lot about themselves and how they fit into the world. While it’s true the other sports can teach most of these lessons, the intensity of a wrestling season is hard to match. With your contribution you can take pride in knowing that the children will be grateful and you can take pride in knowing the donation is a huge part in their personal and team success.
