My Students

Hello, I am Mrs. H. and I am embarking on my first year teaching adventure in kindergarten! I am super excited to meet my students in the fall and give them the tools they need to succeed in their time with me.

A high percentage of students within my school have experienced trauma and poverty.

The school has around 400 students enrolled with over 70% receiving free or reduced price lunch. This will make my task of building a safe and positive learning environment imperative to these students' success.

My Project

I am proud to offer a responsive classroom environment for my kindergarten students. My goal is for my classroom to feel cozy, relaxed, and safe for all of my students. I have several strategies I’m implementing to achieve this goal and would like to consider the lighting of our space to complete my vision.

I myself am light sensitive and so I can only assume I would have students in my class that feel affected by fluorescent lighting.

The light box covers I am seeking donation for will help aleviate effects of light sensitivity while creating a cozy environment in my classroom.
