My Students

My students come to school filled with anticipation. They arrive each day eager to explore new ideas, concepts, and ways of thinking. We have budding scientists, world travelers, doctors, dancers, politicians, educators, dreamers, and creative thinkers. My students come from single family homes, two parent homes and some live with grandparents.

They are creative, clever, spontaneous and eager to learn.

My students love school and all the new ideas reading allows them to explore. Good books make a way for imagination to soar!

My Project

The new grade 3 collection of texts will be used in our classrooms' guided reading or book club time. The books are accompanied with lesson guides, comprehension points, written responses and suggestions for word and vocabulary work. There are books about how scientist study the movement of the octopus in order to create robotic arms, stories of how animal beaks compare to tools we use, and informational books about recycling, upcycling and art creations made from colorful cans of food!

By donating to our project you will lift our students' learning beyond the walls of the classroom with texts that create authentic experiences in reading, thinking, talking, writing and reflecting which will enable them to build a truly literate life.
