Help me give my students iPads so that we can stay connected and complete assignments during remote learning and to continue using the iPads when they return to school.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in the South Bronx at a 3K to eighth grade school, where 99% of the students qualify for free lunch. They attend school regularly and exhibit a willingness to learn despite their circumstances.
My students live and attend school in one of the poorest congressional districts in the United States.
They appreciate all the help that they can get. It is difficult for them to bring classroom supplies, let alone help with the extra things we need in class. They are thankful for all that they receive and show their appreciation in words and their work.
My Project
During remote learning, iPads will provide students with more opportunities to be able to work and excel at their own level and pace. The iPads will be used to improve and maintain the academic learning level of all students while they are learning from home. Teachers and students are more comfortable using them because they promote collaboration and communication between students and teachers. Especially for one on one instruction and interaction.
Additionally, we will continue to use the iPads when schools are finally reopened in New York City.
