My Students
Second grade students are growing so quickly and are trying to make sense of their world. They are moving from a self-only perspective to a broader world view. In addition, second grade students can be very serious and sometimes shy. Students at this age may experience feelings of frustration if things do not go according to plan.
My students are so sweet and they love to tell me all about their lives and things that worry them.
Second grade students do not like doing things wrong and crave order. As a result, when things do not go as planned, they can be crushed.
Students are trying to make sense of the world as they move from their center from themselves to viewing themselves are part of the larger world.
The WorryEaters allow students to write what is bothering them and "feed" to their friends.
My Project
WorryEaters are meant to provide students with a safe way to share and put their worries way. Second grade student do not like making mistakes, being corrected, or being criticized. Some young students are sensitive to criticism, especially in front of their peers. In the classroom, students can put their worries away for just a bit by putting their worries into the WorryEaters.
With the "WorryEaters," students will have a safe place vent their frustrations.
With the reading materials, our class can explore different ways to approach the changes they are experiencing. By exploring how their own behavior affect the whole class, students will be able to make little changes that can make a big difference.
