My students need 10 Rubbermaid containers, 10 pounds of redworms, and 10 plastic scoops.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Denton's classroom raised $681

Working with fourth graders is a delight! I find fourth graders come to school with a thirst for understanding and exploring science and the environment. My goal is to help each of my students understand how science relates to each of them. I also want students to value, appreciate, and help our environment and planet.
Oh No! We've got worms! I was presented with the idea of creating an environmental project and after thinking and exploring, I have decided I would really love to share and explore the world of composting with my students. If we were to provided with some resources, this project could take off and many families in our school would have worms, too!
The idea is to work with an interested group of students and teach them how vermicomposting works and about vermiculture. After modeling and exploring vermiculture and having students keep a worm bin at home, students would then become "experts" and spread their knowledge with fellow classmates. We want the student body and stuff to understand how easy and help it is for our environment.
Any help or support would be appreciated! This is going to be a fabulous hands-on project that could change the way students look at landfills, trash, food, and worms for many generations to come!
