Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are creative, compassionate human beings as well as avid learners. They look for opportunities to grow and expand their knowledge, and these books will serve to guide them as well as teach them and help them to explore familiar and new places, people, cultures, and beliefs.
"Books are sometimes windows, offering views of worlds that may be real or imagined, familiar or strange.
These windows are also sliding glass doors, and readers have only to walk through in imagination to become part of whatever world has been created or recreated by the author (Rudine Sims Bishop)."
Since our school does not have a library students can check out books from, this project will serve to expand our classroom library and offer my students window, mirrors, and sliding glass doors to help them appreciate the diversity, uniqueness, and community to be discovered in our world and beyond it.
