This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I currently see about 150 amazing students from a variety of different backgrounds. For example, my students come to me with a large range of learning levels, language acquisition, and reading levels. All of these differences bring many chances to learn about and from each other.
My Project
Let's make learning about the news fun! Junior Scholastic will help make current events relevant to my students! It will help them travel beyond the walls of the classroom to learn about important news that's happening all around the world. This will help them to make connections to their own lives based on what they are learning about. The magazine will help bring the news to life. The different reading levels offered will also help me to meet the different learning styles and levels that I encounter daily in my classroom. The digital version also has audio that would allow struggling readers to have the news read to them.
