Workout Equipment: A Step Towards Being Physically Active for Life

My students need balance balls, balance boards, and other equipment to learn how to be physically active for life.

My Students

These children come from nothing and all they want is to be successful and have fun doing it. This is my fourth year teaching. When I first entered my school, I was shocked with the background of the majority of my students. Many of these students come from nothing and have very limited opportunities outside of the classroom. The students in my school don't have the chance to participate in a variety of sports, outdoor activities, or recreational activities. Many of these students have a very limited background on healthy habits, including nutrition and exercise. After quickly noticing this trend among my students, I realized that I need to be that person who gives the the tools and opportunities to become knowledgable about being healthy.

My Project

This equipment would allow students to participate in workout weeks once a month. Students will learn activities that they can do outside of the classroom and with their families. I will provide student's with tools to exercise and have fun while doing so.

The ladders will increase students agility and increase their heart rate and encourage healthy behaviors.

Students will burn calories in and out of PE class. This equipment will reach all of the students in the school. Fitness stations will allow students to find an exercise that they like and further push them to live an active lifestyle.
