My students need 5 reading supplies, including a building words center, a multiple meaning words activity and vocabulary games.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Fultz's classroom raised $310
This project is fully funded
I am a proud 2nd grade teacher in a 98% poverty, urban school which serves multiple races and ethnicities. Our students come in every day ready to learn and are so enthusiastic about school. I enjoy being able to reach these students and provide them with a safe space to grow.
I have a large ELL population, along with some students who have a low reading level. Much of what they have trouble with revolves around vocabulary. Research overwhelmingly shows that students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds hear significantly less words than those from middle and upper class backgrounds. This is a crucial area that needs to be developed early in their education to assure success.
Students learn best with visual and hands-on activities. These vary from vocabulary games to a multiple meaning center. Students can easily visualize word families, something they struggle with, using the chart I have requested.
With your help, our class could have a vocabulary boost. Empower students by allowing them to learn new words in a fun way. Thank you so much for your time, and if this is the project for you, we appreciate your donation!
