Kindergarten is a precious time of learning so many new skills. Most of the kindergarten day is spent in math or literacy curriculum, and without incorporating hands-on activities into our lessons, my students would not have a lot of time learning and exploring through fine motor play. I am asking for basic supplies like duct tape, dry erase pockets, glue sticks, paper, card stock, markers and other items. I am also requesting art supplies including dot stickers, play dough, hole punch, spinners, clothes pins, tissue square, and pony beads. Finally, I am requesting manipulatives like play money and a Letters Magnet Activity Set.
The addition of these materials to my classroom would provide my students the opportunity to stray away from strict paper/pencil learning and engage in developmentally appropriate learning.
Examples of this include, tracing paths in dry erase pockets, using tweezers with pom poms, q tip painting, ripping paper and gluing it to a template, cutting, squeezing, and so much more!
I would also love the ability to display their work on a bulletin board in our kindergarten hallway! My students are very active and creative in their learning, I would hate to limit their ability to learn in various ways.
