My Students
My school is located in Woodside Queens and services over 1,500 students. We are a Title I, barrier free school, where over 70 languages are spoken daily. Our children come from a myriad of countries such as China, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, and Bangladesh to name a few.
My children come to school with a desire to learn each and every day.
They are compassionate, loving, and always ready to overcome any obstacles that may arise. Their resilience is heartwarming.
My Project
With the sudden closure of our schools due to COVID 19 my students will lack understanding in areas such as money, budgeting, saving, income, the economy, and needs vs wants. Becoming financially literate is a necessary skill for all children. These are concepts my students will need to understand to become successful later on in life.
These TPT gift cards can be used to purchase resources that will help to build my students' financial literacy skills.
The students can practice making change, adding and subtracting money, and designing their own business with these resources.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
