My Students

I teach first grade at a school in Utah. First graders are so much fun! They are so excited to come to school every day. They are kind to their friends, active and they love learning! At this age, they are working on building the foundations for their school careers.

They are so enthusiastic about learning.

First graders love hands-on activities and they give them the power to explore and solve problems on their own. Today more than ever they need the opportunity to see how their learning can be applied to other areas in their lives. I am so thankful to have a new group of students each year that are so excited to learn!

My Project

We are always looking for ways to increase or enhance our learning. The Scholastic Newsletters are a fun and hands-on way for my students to engage in social studies and science throughout the year.

Social and emotional learning will help us develop our identities as learners and as individuals.

The Spot books are perfect for helping my students recognize and manage all the different feelings we may experience or see others experience throughout each day. Being able to enhance their knowledge about social and emotional well-being will help connect us as a community.

As we enhance our learning it is a bonus for us to have our own book boxes to keep all of these great learning and reading materials in our own space, so that we can access them throughout the day.
