My Students
As I have gotten to know my students, I have seen how excited each of them is about learning this year. Each of them has already made progress in some way in our short time together. Along with that, all of the students in my class were in Kindergarten at the height of the pandemic, therefore a lot of foundational concepts may not have gotten the attention they needed due to the circumstances. Because of this, I want to help my students achieve the most they can this year in all subjects.
My students come from diverse backgrounds and each has different needs.
A number of my students require resource in reading and math and I also have multiple students learning English as a second language. Overall, I feel that this project will help each of my students grasp the concepts they will learn this coming year.
My Project
The materials on this list will allow my students to better engage with technology during class and will give them more hands-on opportunities during math. As a teacher, I am very busy and do not always have the time or resources to constantly be fixing and replacing broken headphones in my classroom. To combat this, my students will need new and reliable headphones to allow them to more effectively use technology. This will help my students succeed as they work in class. For instance, I have students who are not confident in their ability to read. With better quality headphones, those students will be able to use them to have a math problem read to them while I am working in small groups. They will also be able to progress in our online learning programs much faster with these materials.
Overall, I want each of my students to succeed and having resources like these will make this goal more reachable.
To add to that, many of my students will be able to use hands-on materials in math to engage with the content. This way, they will have more opportunities for success and enjoyment in something that can sometimes be challenging for them.
