Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hardworking, clever, and fun to be around. They have a variety of different learning styles. The students benefit from various levels of reading materials and hands-on activities. Their determination and resilience make my job so rewarding.
I'm fortunate to share in my students' successes and help them overcome their challenges.
Ninety-five percent of our school is considered low-income and receives free or reduced-price lunch. The student body consists of sixty-five percent Latino, thirty percent African-American, and five percent Caucasian students.
My Project
I am requesting sixty Correct The Sentence Notebooks, because the notebooks will provide the students with the opportunity to practice grammar, punctuation, and capitalization.
The students will use these notebooks during our first fifteen minutes of every class to ensure they are regularly working to improve their writing skills.
One of the main reasons we are requesting these notebooks is to ensure students have the opportunity to improve their work independently. These notebooks will also help us with time management. Currently, students have to copy sentences into their notebooks. These materials will help students improve their independence and responsibility, while working on basic writing skills.
