Tiny hands need practice in order to get strong! Each and every day we do fine motor activities to help strengthen our tiny hands.
The students in the classroom are learners with special needs.
They qualify to receive special services in a preschool setting to help prepare them for their future school career. Many of the students come from a low income background. They haven't had a typical childhood with the challenges they face. This classroom provides a safe environment for them where they can learn and grow.
Preschool is a place to learn many skills before entering into the big, demanding world of elementary school. For those with special needs, the day is filled with challenges that exceed your typical child's. Many of the students have weak hands due to their developmental delays. This affects their ability to do day-to-day activities that children their age can independently do.
My Project
I am requesting one DryErase SlideLoading Pouch kit for our daily activities. Each and every day students practice their writing skills using wipe off pouches. These allow us to change what they are working on according to their skill level. The pouches we have now and use every day have become worn out with cracks in them. With new ones, my students will be able to practice their skills with ease and help save trees!
The Fill It Up! Fine Motor Jars, Indestructible Giant Beads & Patterns, and Beads & Laces will help students practice their grasp which will help build their writing skills. It will also help them build skills that will allow them to day activities like zipping up their coat, and tying their shoes.
Donations towards this project will help provide necessary materials for young students that are currently unavailable.
This classroom is their first experience in school. By using these materials they will be able to grow and learn which will help them be successful in their future school career.
