This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are curious, brave, and inspire me every day. When school closed in March, many of my students experienced fear, sadness, hopelessness and anxiety. I had to provide counseling remotely to address my students' social, emotional and mental needs. Together, my students and I engaged in daily phone calls and video conferencing. My favorite thing is to see my students overcome barriers that impede their learning.
Coming back to school this year is going to be full of many challenges for my students.
Many have expressed fears. My goal is to help my students with their needs and provide them with a safe and friendly learning environment. My students are in need of mental, social and emotional activities that will help my students become more self-aware,develop positive relationships, show empathy towards others, mange emotions, use self-control, resolve conflicts and make positive decisions.
My Project
These games help students to work on controlling strong emotions. The hilariously fun games empowers students to Take Charge of Their Thoughts, Actions, and Emotions uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to teach them how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. All are great for students with special needs and disorders (ADD, ADHD, OCD), for autism, anxiety and stress. We will work together to have a healthy and successful school year. It is key for my students to have the knowledge and self-confidence needed to stay safe and to live successful, happy lives.
