My Students
When you walk into my classroom, you will see artists, readers, thinkers, dancers, architects, mathematicians, friends, and experts.
Each student in my class has strengths, which are used daily to make a learning environment we all want to be a part of.
The mission in our classroom is "Work hard. Be kind." Our students work hard by asking questions, focusing on their work, challenging one another, and encouraging their friends. They are kind to one another and work as a team. We work hard to take our mission out of the classroom and share the gifts we have learned to others.
My Project
I couldn't be more excited for the upcoming year and I need your help to make it even better! I have taught 1st and 2nd grade students for 14 years and this year I am thrilled to teach 4th graders with special needs. Some of these students are my past 2nd graders which helps me know exactly what they need for success! The cart will help me organize items as I prepare for each group in reading, writing, and math. The easel will be used to enhance learning, give examples, and allow students to work through skills together. The games, puzzles, and Botley robot will be used as incentives that encourage social skills and positive behavior.
Donating to this project will not only motivate students to be successful in my small classroom, but will give them confidence as they work within the regular education classroom.
The white boards will be used both independently and as a group to show their thinking and work through problems. The headphones are an amazing support for the students I have that do not like loud noises but want to be a part of assemblies, lunch, and other activities that can be quite loud.
Your support will reward students in ways that provide self confidence and encourage positive motivation for academic success.
