Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My class is made up of diligent, inspiring, and creative fourth graders with big hearts and analytical minds. They attend school every day with purpose and a desire to learn something new, to discuss what they think, and take pride in their efforts. My students learn in a bilingual community with a high level of family support. They attend our school with a great attitude to learn, apply, and articulate their learning.
My Project
Our collaborative classroom inspires students to develop the 21st century skills of creating, communicating, and critical thinking. Students need spaces for this collaboration. We are looking for fresh ways to support students in working together. Flexible seating for my students allows them to take charge of their learning. Students are in school for many hours where they have to stay focused. Alternative seating supports students in staying engaged during small group or independent tasks. The stools support the need for alternative seating by allowing students some controlled mobility while working.
Our Fourth-Grade students love having the option that flexible seating provides and this seating will support them in their ability to stay engaged.
This addition to the classroom will not only impact this group of these amazing students, but students for years to come!
