My Students
How many of you remember having to sit at your seat and work all day long at school when all you really wanted to do was stand up and stretch your legs? Kids go from running around outside and playing to sitting at a desk for up to six hours a day when they enter school.
In a public school setting, my students are a welcome mix of abilities, backgrounds, and family support at home.
With a 90% minority population and 40% speaking a second language at home, some of my students are still adapting their dialect to public speaking. They are eager students, always ready to present, and are willing to break out with given time. Flexible grouping allows them to communicate through different learning styles and personalities. With a positive effect, my students are engaged and enjoy working with one another.
My Project
My students are learning and producing great work, both inside and outside of the classroom. They are in need of hard surfaces and soft seating in order to work adequately in the spaces that they need.
To give them adequate comfort to accomplish their tasks, they require the cushions so that they can find any place in the classroom to work, whether it's independent or collaborating with others.
The clipboards and lap desk provide them the opportunity to either work on the floor or outside and still provide them with a surface necessary so that their soft supplies don't become a hinderance.
The flexible approach to their work allows them to produce material that is their best and makes them the most proud.
