Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach an extraordinary group of middle school students in the Bronx. I believe that my students, and all students, have so much potential and I want to use that to enhance their future both inside and out of education. My students are very diverse, both in their variety of cultures, their needs and their learning styles which makes my job the best in the world.

My students constantly keep me on my toes and their curious minds teach me something new every day.

Most of my students are living in poverty, have insecure housing, or are either immigrants or first-generation Americans. Most of my students have experienced trauma in their lives and all of my students are exceptional individuals who show up each and every day, ready to learn.

My Project

I am going to utilize the file folders to store work students are proud of to compile a complete portfolio of student work. These folders will organize student work so they can reference older assignments, their progress and achievement. Each accordion folder will be used for one class and each individual pocket is used for a single student. I hope that buying high quality file folders will allow me to reuse them year after year. Additionally, I am asking for Lysol wipes to ensure a clean environment, especially with flu season upon us! I look forward to managing and organizing student work effectively to improve their quality of work.
