Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are English language learners who are recent immigrants to the United States. Many of my students are refugees and have never been to school, or have experienced interrupted schooling due to war or natural disaster. My students are very eager to learn everything they can to make up for their lost learning time.

If I can provide them the necessary materials to catch up to their peers, my students will shine brightly.

We need to show these children that we care and will do our best to help them in the classroom and in their new country.

My Project

We are fortunate to have a space for our students to go to complete work during their lunch period or to stay after school for a study session. Our students also fill out their college applications here and get guidance on the application process.

The tables that are currently in the room are extremely wobbly and could fall apart at any moment.

Besides posing a safety threat, the students find it difficult to concentrate on their work while the tables are moving and creaking.

If we receive these new tables, the students will be able to focus on their work and work in collaboration with their peers without the threat of squeaks and wobbles.
