This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Special needs students with neurological differences learn best when they are exposed to hands-on opportunities. The purpose of incorporating a cricut maker work station in the classroom is to allow my students the opportunity to apply valuable skills, such as time management, problem solving, communication, and technology skills. These skills can be applied in the classroom and as an adult.

These skills are useful throughout all subjects and develops their creativity and can prepare them for a variety of careers.

This serves as a vocational training which is vital in preparing them for the workforce. Special need students (specifically higher functioning Intellectual Disabled and with Autism Spectrum Disorder), often face challenges with planning, organizing, and executing complex tasks; as well as deficits in the area of social and interpersonal skills. Most importantly, they struggle with connecting their academic work to later possible career options.
