My Students
100% of my students are in temporary housing. I am the community coordinator and I support students and their families with housing, benefits, and all other needs.
While all of my students are experiencing displacement, homelessness, doubled up etc.
many of them are still doing well in class and are resilient enough not to let those circumstances stop them from being all they can be.
Some of my students are special needs and are diagnosed with different mental, educational, or social disabilities. They still work just as hard as the students in general education.
My Project
Help us get to know each other through these social-emotional toys! My students are mostly low income and are going through tougher situations.
I would like to equip my students with the right tools to help them open up to discussion and "digging deep" during our counseling sessions.
With tools like the Thumb Balls, students can incorporate play and counseling in one session. Also, there are prize box items to assist with encouraging students to achieve their goals and stay on track from week to week.
Other items, such as the lanyard will be given to students as weekly team leads during our group sessions! All of our written work will be kept in the binder and the storage boxes and skirt are to keep our space organized while keeping the items covered and safe while they are not being used.
