Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Last month, I welcomed a new group of third grade students into my virtual classroom. I am teaching third grade for the first time in a Northern California school. We are a Title 1 school that supports a diverse group of children from various cultural backgrounds. Many of our students are English Language Learners. Seventy two percent of our student population qualifies for reduced and free lunch and breakfast. Although many students come from low-income families, they are a dedicated group of students and excited to learn.

My Project

Most of my students work on beds, in cars, or at a crowded kitchen table. With a lap desk, my students will have a flat surface to complete written assignments or to place their laptops.

My students need this tool to succeed during their at-home learning.

My 3rd grade students attend online classes every day. Their attendance demonstrates their commitment to their education. Now all they need are the tools to enhance their educational experience. Please help me give my students the tools they need to be successful at home.
