My Students
My Kindergarten students are active and curious, exploring their surroundings and enjoying the great outdoors! Thirty percent of my students are on free and reduced lunch. Some students have special needs and are mainstreaming in my diverse and energetic general education class. They enjoy outside activities year-round in our large outdoor playground with a play structure and basketball court. The students enjoy these activities while socializing, making new friends and working together, exploring and investigating. Lifelong friendships and learning are developed through these shared experiences!
My Project
My Kindergarten group has a variety of learning styles and educational needs. Students are grouped in learning center groups and need a safe and comfortable work table to access outside activities together. The goal is for them to "learn by doing" while enjoying this positive outdoor education experience!
Students will access plant and animal science outdoors and use the table for exploration and investigation, journal writing, computer centers and artistic expression such as modeling clay animals and painting.
The table will make a huge difference because of the limited seating area outdoors and will add to another "Donors Choose" table just funded by another Kindergarten Teacher!
