Help me give my students colored pencils, paper, sentence strips, and other items needed to help them grow as valuable readers and writers within the middle school classroom.
I love how my students feel challenged each day when it comes to working our way through the writing process. Working with middle school students with special needs, including learning disabilities and emotional difficulties, makes teaching an ELA class challenging. Differentiating instruction for these students involves lots of modeling of strategies and we utilize anchor charts, graphic organizers, and vocabulary word walls daily within our classroom environment to help students grow as readers and writers. Through the use of sentence strips, index cards, colored pencils, construction paper, and other writing materials requested, we can help reach our goal to provide students with the materials needed to improve their writing skills. We will be color-coding reading materials to help differentiate lessons and instruction within our classroom projects. We need your help to keep students motivated to learn using colorful charts and graphics within our room as reference materials.
