Help me give my students the power of words! Increasing vocabulary practice through Wordly Wise will help my students excel above and beyond in any standardized test, writing task and day to day conversations.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The use of Wordly Wise books will help my students increase their vocabulary practice. The workbooks are excellent in providing numerous practice methods to not just attain the information but practice the knowledge of the vocabulary words and help with retention.
My goal for this project is to create a Vocabulary Station in which students partake in active vocabulary practice weekly.
My students come from a low income population and have not been exposed to reading for fun in the home. Some students are transitioning from ESOL classes and acquiring English as a second language. No matter the student's language background, the Vocabulary Station could sharpen students' standardized testing, writing, and reading skills.
