This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These hands-on materials will help my students practice their spelling and high frequency words to become more proficient readers and writers. During literacy centers, students will use these manipulatives to spell their words in a more concrete way. Hands-on learning creates long term memory and, consequently, better readers and writers.

My first graders need to know 100 sight words by the end of the year, and these fun manipulatives would be a great bonus to help them on their learning journey in first grade.
