My students need more word work activities. My students need to have access to activities such as CVC work center and sight-word puzzles so they can practice in small groups to strengthen phonemic awareness and learn sight words.

My Students
I teach kindergarten in a small, rural school on the outskirts of Georgetown County in South Carolina. Every student in our school receives free lunch. Many of my students come from low-income homes and face many challenges both inside and outside the classroom. My students are eager and excited to learn new things. My students will benefit from having activities in class that will reinforce what we are learning.
I strive to create a learning environment that meets all the needs of my students.
My Project
I am requesting word work activities for my kindergarten classroom These activities will help my students grow as readers. These activities will reinforce what we are learning.
My students need games and activities that focus on phonemic awareness and sight words to use in small groups as well as independently during Daily 5.
The items I am requesting (phonemic awareness learning centers and building words center) will empower my students to be engaged learners. They will help my students have fun and become the best readers possible all at the same time. Students will learn to work together to complete a task. My students will grow in many ways.
