Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach 4th grade in an inner city California public elementary school. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch at school due to the low socio-economic status of our population.

With a shrinking budget and more students in our classrooms getting needed resources has become challenging. Many of our students are learning English as a second language and challenging themselves to expand their vocabularies. They are in need of dictionary's and other vocabulary building materials.

Our class needs 6 dictionaries and 6 books of idioms. With these books the students will be able to build their vocabularies and access higher level texts. Students will use these books daily to work in groups to define a daily word as well as a daily idiom.

You can make it possible for our young students to become wordly wise. With out the generosity of people like yourself doing my job would be impossible.
