My Project
Imagine living in an area of a city that is known for violence, poverty, and lack of living conditions. My students live this every single day. Many of my students are unable to go outside and play due to the violence and fears. Their living conditions are extremely poor and would be considered unsafe for many of us. But they live there.
My students are migrant students or newcomers who are working hard to learn English.
The ready-to-go, engaging, hands-on Little Minds at Work® Science of Reading Essentials Toolkit will help my EL learners practice much-needed basic skills to begin to learn English. This collection of multi-sensory materials will help transform our phonics instruction to include the best practices of the Science of Reading. This toolkit will help me introduce hands-on routines to develop phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, and vocabulary instruction.
This project will impact TWO schools due to beings split between two buildings this year. My students come to school with a smile, ready to learn! My students WANT to LEARN!
