This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have seventeen bilingual kindergarten students who love singing, dancing, and learning about their world. For the majority of them, kindergarten is their first school experience. Most of my students qualify for free lunch while the remainder qualify for reduced-price lunch. While all my students speak Spanish as their native language, they come to me with unique backgrounds and experiences.

My students are inquisitive and eager to absorb new knowledge.

They learn from each other as much as I learn from them in the short nine months we have together.

My Project

My kindergarten students need to learn their letters in order to learn to read. Very few students recognize their name in print at this point in the year. Your donation will purchase alphabet books in Spanish, fun games such as Spanish Alphabet learning locks, word games, alphabet puzzles, and ABC games.

Your donation will provide my students with fun opportunities to learn the alphabet.

Your donation equals new literacy stations that will help my students become confident with their ABCs. Kindergarten is where students build a strong foundation in literacy and your donation will help us get started down that path.
