This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Regular school attendance is an important part of giving our students the best possible start in life. We need to keep our students germ free so that they don't miss school and fall behind with their work.

My students are new comers from another country and struggling readers that come to the learning center on a daily basis to receive extra support in language development, reading and math.

They enjoy read-alouds and shared readings where they are able to engage in rich discussions that lead towards making connections, partner sharing, retelling stories or sharing newly learned knowledge with their peers through different collaborative groupings.

My Project

Winter is around the corner! It's time to enjoy the holidays, make new friends and share new experiences. Unfortunately, it's also a time when students tend to share something else: germs. Germs keep our students in bed instead of school. My students do not have the luxury of staying at home even one day. They come daily to the Learning Center, my classroom, to receive extra support in language arts and math. I will use the Purell Advanced Instant Hand Sanitizer and Personal Pump Bottle to prevent the spread of germs since I have multiple students using the same items such as pens and crayons. I will use the Swiffer Wet Jet Starter Kit and Jet disposable refills to clean our floor and keep germs out of the classroom. I will use Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to keep our table tops and electronic devices germ free. These hygiene products are fundamental "life essentials" to the well-being of my students. With these items, I will ensure that everyone stays flu free and ready to learn.

According to the Parent Institute, "It's a fact that students who attend school regularly learn more and are more successful in school than students who do not... Students who miss school miss out on active learning experiences and class participation.

They miss out on the opportunity to ask questions. They are more likely to fall behind." Your support will ensure my students are in school ready to learn in a germ free environment.
