Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever attempted to build a planter box but only had a hand saw and a hammer? After spending hours of time trying to cut the wood, and hammer the nails, you end up with a planter box that took hours of time and will fall apart in a year. The problem was that you had the wrong tools.

My students have been under-served since the beginning of their schooling.

My students come from low-income homes, many with only one or no parents. They are born with little social capital and are often underestimated by our society. They work very hard when given the chance and I know they will make a positive difference in our world.

My Project

I am requesting woodworking tools that will allow students to create engineering projects that are professional, high quality, and time saving. By having the right tools students will save time and create more professional work that will create greater pride and admiration for what they have done. It will also allow us as a class to push through more content and projects.

Your financial contribution supports my students by putting the right tools in their hands and serves as an investment in their future.

The woodworking tools, specifically the sander and the krieg jig will last for years and will be an investment in my future classes
