My students are an amazing group of first graders who love to learn and are eager to please. They deserve every opportunity that can be provided to learn academic and social skills. The school that we attend has a high poverty rate where 85% of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. The students come from a variety of backgrounds, and they have a wide range of abilities and strengths. Expectations are set high so that they will be prepared for what is expected of them in the future.
My goal is to do anything possible to set them up for success.

My Project
This project will benefit every child in our second grade classes. Receiving the items requested will ensure that there are equitable materials and opportunities for our students.
Making sure that every student has the writing supplies they need to achieve their goals ensures equity among our students.
Each student will receive a journal, pencil pouch with fine line markers and pens, goal charts and stickers. These materials will be used at school and at home.
Our goal as a grade level is to focus on writing strategies which will increase both writing and reading success. We will be working hard trying to make up for some of the instruction time lost last school year due to the closure of school buildings. Thank you for providing our students opportunities to make rapid progress!
