My Students
Writing means sharing, and that's what Kindergarten is all about!
My students want to tell me everything!
So we have been working on writing, to share about ourselves. The beauty of Kindergarten is that everything about school is fun and exciting. I want to capitalize on their enthusiasm and help them to be great readers and writers!
My Project
During writing time, I have found that it is easier to use journals, instead of folders for Kindergarten. We will use our journals to write in and then share from. We will also use the read-aloud books to make connections about the writing that we will be practicing, whether it be organizing a piece, adding new words, or focusing on voice.
It's widely known that reading and writing go hand-in-hand and I want my kids to be great at both.
Having dedicated journals and mentor books to help practice our writing will allow my students to share their thoughts, continue to grow as readers and fall in love with writing!
