My Students

I teach in a K-5 elementary building. Our students are inquisitive and ask thought-provoking questions, with supportive parents. Typically most students who enroll in Kindergarten spend their entire elementary career within our school. We are a school that prides itself on PBIS implementation and family connection. My school has also recently implemented AVID, which places emphasis on college and career readiness.

All of these support systems allows students to feel supported and more willing to learn.

We are raising lifelong learners at my school!

My Project

My students are growing as writers each and every day. However, there are still certain elements that are lacking from their writing. These reference folders feature a variety of skills and strategies for growing writers, such as punctuation reminders, figurative language examples, revising and editing techniques, and commonly misspelled words.

These folders would give my students an everyday reference guide to improve their writing.

As we know, when certain elements are out of sight, students don't automatically remember those elements to include in their writing, such as transition words. However, with these super informative folders, my students would be able to refer to these skills day in and day out, so their writing process is strengthened and they add pieces to their essays more automatically.
