This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My sixth graders are persistent and ready to face new challenges. They love learning! Their passion for learning inspires me to give my all as their teacher. I teach in an area of low-income and high poverty. Nearly all students qualify for the free lunch program. Our school is a wonderful learning community, yet it is very low on resources.
I want to be able to provide my students with the supplies and resources they need to become motivated, life-long learners.
My Project
When students create, I want them to know that their work is valued. My students often work in groups to share ideas and display their findings. They collaborate for reading strategies such as Notice and Note, math talks with CGI and often do many presentations. With Mr. Sketch markers they can create work that stands out and calls attention to their increased learning. They can polish their creativity and organization with such vivid colors.
I want my students to be proud of their work!
With the Scotch PRO Laminator, they will be able to show off their work to display inside and out of our classroom, and their families can cherish their work for the many years to come.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
