My Students

Art leaves no child behind, and we desperately need your help in purchasing some good quality paintbrushes for our classroom. Please help us make an impact in this world with our artwork! Our school is loaded with talent but short on supplies. Any assistance you could give us would be appreciated.

Our school is full of impoverished artists in desperate need of supplies and, specifically, good paintbrushes.

Students range in age from 11 to 15 years of age. Many of our students live in such poverty that they cannot even bring basic art supplies to class. Budget cuts have impacted our art curriculum drastically in the last three years. Students here are very caring and grateful for an assistance that they receive. Students in this school speak a total of 52 different languages and dialects and bring a wealth of inspiration and creativity to the classroom. Many of these students have never had art classes, but harbor such a spark to learn that they touch my heart daily. Please help me to supply them with the art tools they need to empower them be successful and create. Your donations could touch as many as 900 students in a single year, and touch a child for a lifetime. We would greatly appreciate any assistance you could give us.

My Project

Watercolor brushes are key to handling the challenging and limitless medium of watercolor. The paintbrushes we are asking for are a better quality paintbrush that make watercolor painting much easier. Good brushes greatly enhance the quality of work students produce. Students would use these brushes in grades 6th, 7th and 8th. We are also needing larger wash brushes to create a variety of special effects when painting. The quality of brushes we are asking for will last us an average of 3-5 years. We are limited right now to very cheap camel haired brushes that are very small. It is very difficult to paint with these brushes. Students love working with watercolor paints, The variety of techniques you can create with them allow everyone to be successful. Watercolor paints are inexpensive and easily obtained by students. The brushes are a little more difficult to purchase as quality brushes are expensive for our students. Please help me to teach students the magic of this medium.

Please become a patron of the arts and help our low income students feel like they count.

Many of the schools in our city have PSTA organizations and parents that have money to give to their art departments. Our school is very limited because our needs are so great, and many of our parent resources are very limited. Please help my students to have access to the same quality materials that other students have so that they may be given the same advantages as all students in the city.
