This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students have to sit in uncomfortable desks all day. I would like to provide them with the opportunity to sit and read in a comfortable place and lose themselves in a good book in a quiet space. We are on a four day schedule and our days are long. I firmly believe students benefit from having time to relax while reading and learning. This will also allow time for brain breaks, group discussions, and collaborative learning. We do students an injustice when we expect them to stay still and focus all day while seated in desks. Learners have evolved and so should our classroom environments.
