My Project

My students have completed several book studies so far this year. We will start a new book study at the beginning of March, and I would love to introduce the book, Wonder. This excellent book discusses many social and emotional skills that young children use daily. This will make a difference in my classroom by making the students really think about how they treat students at the school who are different from them, along with strategies to use when they face difficult social situations. My goal for this project is to get a book for every student in my classroom so they can follow along as I read to them. My students love it when they have a book read aloud to them because they can comprehend the story better and envision themselves in the shoes of the main character. My students have shown tremendous growth through the four book studies we have already completed, and I think this could tie up the end-of-book studies for the school year!
