Women's History Month: the Music of Laura Estes

My Project

March is Women's History Month and I am looking to include more pieces by women composers in our band sheet music library. In building this music library from scratch, I'm trying to make sure that I include pieces and composers that match the diversity of my students. I also want to have a mix of classics with modern favorites and new voices. Laura Estes is becoming one of the fresh, new voices of the concert band scene. Her music is fun, quirky, playful, and approachable for younger students, making these compositions a welcome fit for our library.
