Help me give my students a new wobble stool to help distracted kids stay on task as well as some new books to complete our class set and facilitate our research!
My students are such hard workers from struggling families. They want to be successful and are excited to learn. They love learning through games and discussions. My students attend a Title I school and 56% receive free or reduced lunch prices. Their families don't have the money needed to buy educational materials for their students. My students are special because they are so motivated to learn both at home and at school, even though many of their parents are working multiple jobs and aren't around much.
My Project
I have several students in my classroom this year who need to constantly be moving. They are very distracting on regular chairs because they lean back, fall off of them, and sit backwards. We need a stool that will wobble all around without distracting the rest of my 30 students! We also need some more copies of Harry Potter. Currently we are reading this as a class and doing Language Arts and close reading activities along the way. I have students sharing books, so it has been very difficult for them to reread the book to find quotes and important information without having their own copy. Finally, we need books about the Mayflower so that my students can learn what it was like for the Pilgrims who actually were on the ship. I have a research project that my students will use with these books.
