My students are a diverse group of ambitious and enthusiastic learners from Eastern North Carolina who work hard on a daily basis to achieve the goals that we set for ourselves. As a teacher in a low-income and high poverty school district, my students face many challenges in and out of the classroom. These students come to school eager to learn and ready to put forth their best effort in the classroom.
We are ready to move beyond our "classroom seating as usual" mentality and incorporate a more flexible seating option within our classroom.
My Project
Are you ready to wobble? We are! I've heard it said that an uncomfortable student is a distracted student. I don't know about you, but I will have to agree. Throughout the day many students get very antsy and find the need to constantly get up out of their seats just to get some movement.
Flexible seating is a great way to allow students the opportunity to move a little in their seats while engaging in their work and participating in their collaborative groups or even as they work independently.
The product that I selected, will give each of my students the opportunity to "get the wiggles out" without them having to leave their seats!
