This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, I have provided my students with flexible seating. I love to see them focused and engaged. We already do a lot of moving around and sitting on the floor. We have some hard stools and standard chairs already. I want to provide them with comfortable moveable seating that can help each and every child be more engaged in their learning. Research has shown that when students are comfortable and able to get their wiggles out, their learning performance increases. We have had donut seats, wiggle pads, and balance balls, but unfortunately, they do not last.
These wobble seats are durable and the most engaging that will last for years to come.
The students are willing to sit and write far more before fatiguing or becoming distracted with these chairs. I need a total of 16 more to finish my room and but am starting with 4 at a time. I can't wait to see the students' excitement and student success increase as my students find where they learn best!
