My students need wobble chairs to help them move while they learn. These allow them to move back and forth, wobble, and strengthen their core, all while learning!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have had the honor of teaching the best group of little people imaginable. I looped with them from first to second and plan to teach them third grade this coming year. I feel very lucky and blessed.
These little people face many challenges and hardships that would defeat any average person.
They all receive free lunch, English is a second language for the majority of my class, and many are face extraordinary challenges at home. My students are not average, however. They are extraordinary!
Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school ready and excited to learn! They come with open minds and open hearts and are the most remarkable and kindhearted people I have had the pleasure to know. This is shown day after day as they request extra time to work in place of recess, show excitement over every lesson or activity I plan, persevere to complete accurate work no matter how long it takes, extend a helping hand to classmates when they need it, and share anything and everything if it is helpful to do so.
My Project
With these wobble chairs, students will be able to learn in a whole new way. The classroom environment and an opportunity to move and exercise is crucial to student learning. This project helps students to move and learn at the same time. They will use their core muscles to move back and forth while the simultaneously grow and learn.
Research shows that movement and learning are connected.
Physical movement strengthens learning, improves memory and retrieval, and enhances learner motivation and morale! With these wobble chairs, students will able to enjoy the benefits of movement and brain development and show exponential growth.
